Mythical Games to Launch FIFA-Inspired Web3 Soccer Game Globally in June

Mythical Games, the Web3 gaming studio known for “NFL Rivals,” announced on Wednesday that it will globally launch its FIFA-themed mobile soccer game in June, with a pre-release rollout scheduled for May.

The game, tentatively titled “FIFA Rivals,” will be available on both Apple and Android devices, and is expected to debut in tandem with the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

From NFL to FIFA: Mythical Expands Sports Gaming Portfolio

The new title builds on the success of Mythical’s previous sports collaboration, NFL Rivals, and further strengthens the company’s position as a leader in Web3-powered sports gaming. The game will combine mobile-friendly gameplay with blockchain-based features, though exact details on NFT integration or digital asset functionality have yet to be revealed.

The announcement was made via Mythical Games’ official X (formerly Twitter) account, with developers confirming that the project remains on track for its mid-year debut.

A Billion-Dollar Bet on Web3 Gaming

Mythical Games has been one of the standout names in the Web3 gaming sector. In 2021, it raised $150 million in Series C funding led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), pushing its valuation to $1.25 billion. Other high-profile investors include ARK Invest, Animoca Brands, MoonPay, Stanford Athletics, and PROOF.

Despite broader industry challenges in attracting mainstream audiences to blockchain-based games, Mythical’s partnerships with globally recognized sports entities like FIFA and the NFL give it a unique edge.

FIFA’s Web3 Ambitions Continue

This upcoming game won’t mark FIFA’s first step into blockchain. The international soccer body previously launched digital collectibles tied to ticketing benefits for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, offering holders exclusive access to final match tickets.

The June release of FIFA Rivals is seen as a strategic move to leverage the excitement around international soccer events and tap into both mobile gamers and crypto-savvy audiences.
